SøEdited Team: SøCreative Director: Chris Saint Sims SøFashion Director: Savannah Barthorpe Elisa Trombatore’s SS2025 collection, “Mother of Pearl, Daughter of Flesh,” is a personal tribute to her body and spirit. It tells stories of self-love through sketches and embroidery. The collection explores the mix of beauty and pain, drawing inspiration from the myths of Sicily, especially the figures Scylla and Charybdis from Greek mythology. Trombatore gives a new perspective on Scylla, who is often seen as a monster, showing her softer, more human side. This exploration helps reclaim the story of femininity, sexuality, and motherhood. Featuring soft blue, cream, and champagne colours, reflecting the beauty of the ocean and pearls. Rich fabrics and unique corsets highlight the blend of structure and natural flow, with each piece handmade to promote Dreaming Eli’s artisan workmanship. A new Ballerina Platform shoe, designed for everyday wear, along with a special live-painted dress created in collaboration with artist Sophie Tea, which will be auctioned later this autumn. Through this collection, Trombatore invites people to connect with their true selves, expressing, “I felt myself for the first time, walking on waves, made of suffering and grace,” celebrating the idea that the sea is a woman.
