Luxury is changing. It's no longer about logos, excess or being the loudest voice in the room. The new era belongs to brands built on authenticity, craftsmanship and intention, and few embody that shift more naturally than Sonal, founder of FLAPPER6.

Inspired by the fearless women of the 1920s flapper movement, FLAPPER6 is a modern fashion house rooted in heritage while looking firmly towards the future. Every collection reflects a philosophy that values individuality over imitation, timeless design over passing trends, and garments created to become part of a woman's life rather than simply her wardrobe.

"The new definition of luxury is not excess. It is meaning."

For Sonal, fashion began long before launching a label. Growing up within the Rabari community, she watched generations of women transform fabric into stories through intricate embroidery and handcraft. Those early experiences shaped her understanding that true luxury isn't measured by price, but by patience, precision and respect for craftsmanship.

"My earliest lessons in luxury came from watching women create with their hands, their patience and their stories."

That philosophy runs through every FLAPPER6 collection. Clean silhouettes, exceptional fabrics and carefully considered details create pieces that feel quietly confident rather than attention-seeking. Every stitch has purpose, every proportion is intentional.

"The most powerful pieces do not demand attention. They quietly earn it."

Rather than designing for trends, Sonal designs for women who already know who they are—or are discovering it. The FLAPPER6 woman doesn't dress to impress; she dresses as an expression of herself.

"Fashion cannot create confidence, but it can reveal it."

It's this emotional connection that defines the brand. Customers often tell Sonal they feel seen in her designs, not simply dressed. For her, that response matters more than compliments.

"A garment should not simply occupy space in a wardrobe. It should hold a place in someone's life."

As conversations around sustainability continue to evolve, Sonal believes the future lies in creating fewer, better pieces that are loved for years rather than seasons.

"The most sustainable piece is the one you truly love and choose to keep."

Building FLAPPER6 hasn't been without challenges. Like many founders, she's had to resist the temptation to chase trends in favour of protecting the brand's identity.

"I am not interested in creating what is already selling. I am interested in creating what feels necessary."

Her inspiration rarely comes from fashion alone. Instead, she finds creativity in people, their stories, ambitions and individuality, with London continuing to influence the spirit of the brand through its diversity, energy and effortless confidence.

When asked to describe the future of fashion in one word, Sonal's answer is immediate: meaningful.

She isn't simply building another fashion label. She's creating a house founded on heritage, craftsmanship and emotional connection, one that believes luxury should be worn, remembered and passed on.

As fashion continues to move away from fast consumption towards lasting value, FLAPPER6 represents something increasingly rare: clothing created with purpose, designed to become part of someone's story.

"The future of fashion belongs to pieces people keep, remember and return to."
