Now that I have introduced the foundation of Showing up and Letting go to living my best life I wish to expand on how “showing up” appears on a daily basis.

Showing up doesn't necessary mean attending every event in your diary but rather engaging in activities which make you happy. In my case I always spoke about projects I intended to start but never ‘having the time” to complete or questioning ‘will it even be worth it’.

I noticed my approach was negative and I longed to show up with an open mind and a positive outlook which is what prompted me to challenge myself. I took to my notebook and prepared a list of intentions I could easily incorporate within my daily life such as seeing family or friends, going for a walk and very slowly I built the motivation and energy to expand this to other activities.

Overtime I slowly built upon my daily goals to more committed activities such as attending wellness talks, mediation and even starting those projects I mentioned earlier. We are all on a journey and for this reason I wish to share some tools which help propel me into the right frame of mind to approach each day with a positive mindset.

  1. Create daily goals! (preferably of an evening for the following day)
  2. Begin each morning by setting intentions for the day (I use self-mastery cards by Anthony Pheilps but you can write them down put them in a jar and pick them out each morning)
  3. Upon returning home I check in with my list of goals rolling them over to next day if necessary knowing that I did my best.
  4. I Allow time for reflection at the end of each day to ponder as to whether self-improvement would benefit from being applied.
  5. Meal prep and drink more water! (YouTube is great for quick and easy meal preps) after all a healthy body and mind go hand in hand, I find meal prep helps keep me on track as it allows me to feel organised and accomplished

During my wellness journey I have reconnected with one of my closest childhood friends whose life had reached a similar stage to mine consequently we are navigating this together. In such a fast-paced society daily life can prove challenging which is why it is so important to build a healthy support system, do not be afraid of engaging your friends into healthy new activities you want to try out, they may want to show up too.
