SøCreative Director: Chris Saint Sims SøFashion Director: Savannah Barthorpe Tata Naka takes inspiration from the world of ballet rehearsals, looking beyond the magic one sees on stage. Eschewing the elaborate costumes and flawless performances of the dancers on stage for the behind-the-scenes style at the rehearsals themselves. Tata Naka explores classical studio dance wear - leotards, floaty chiffon skirts, leg warmers, warm up pants - mixed with the dancers off duty looks including cosy knits, tweed blazers and oversized coats. The colour palette features soft pastels associated with dance wear: lavender, salmon, pink, jade, yellow and turquoise. Prints are inspired by the vintage-style florals often seen on leotard designs. The same motifs feature as beaded panels inserted in cut-out dresses and are also incorporated in soft cashmere pieces. A sportier sweatshirt-style range of jumpers showcases Tata Naka’s interpretation of Giselle, Romeo and Juliet and The Swan ballet posters. Outerwear includes colourful herringbone tweeds with knitted detailing that creates a layered look, and Tata Naka’s signature padded print bombers and oversized coats. For the presentation Tata Naka is working with Elena Glurjidze, the former lead principal ballerina of English National Ballet and her ballet school Masters of Ballet Academy who will stage a ballet rehearsal for guests to experience.

Fashion Director: Savannah Barthorpe Photo: Debbie Bragg Autumn/winter 2023, Paul Costelloe has taken inspiration from James Joyce's Ulysses. This novel, along with the Poolbeg Chimneys, are iconic structures of Dublin industrial, past and present. Paul Costelloe “This is a celebration of Dublin that was, Dublin that is, and the city I love so well” True to form, Costelloe presented a collection of grace, femininity and strength of women with elegance, a hint of masculinity and modernity. Heavy industrial coats and box shoulders brought a dramatic yet a somber mood to the catwalk, with much of this Autumn Winter 2023 collection being wearable in a more casual manner. Chic sophisticated and unassuming was displayed within this hard lined and graphic collection. As we moved onto Costelloes evening dresses of muted colors, silvery grays and blacks, we retained the theme within a modernism industrial mood, ravaged ruffles, elongated selves, and a more immediate and frantic nature creating effortlessly tailored looks. This theme creating an almost heavy-drama, and as fashion should do a reflection of our times. Using the highest grade of fabrics from both Ireland and Italy, woven cloth of silver by William Clarke of Derry, long tailored coats, skirts and highly structured fitted jackets from Magees in Donegal, and Emblem Weavers in Wexford. Twisted yarn Knitwear mixed in with rich velvets and lush brocades bring an opulence and vitality to this exceptional collection. This season teaming up with outstanding jewellry houses, Peb-ble of London for old-gold celtic styles, Blaithin Ennis of Ireland for delicate, net ropes and architect Angela Brady with bespoke, fused glass pieces inspired by Autumnal in-house prints. All three houses presenting masterpieces that evoke this celebration of Irish creativity and adapting to Costelloes them of an industrial harsh narrative within the collection.
