St Gallen has been the creative centre and heart of Akris since the fashion brand was founded in 1922. Akris cultivates its roots, creating fashion looking beyond fleeting trends. The Map Prints that are featured in Akris Fall Winter 21 collection date back from 1878 to 2016, and celebrate the heritage of this historical city Robert Walser the Swiss writer and a passionate walker responded to the collection “The Walk is a love letter to this everyday phenomena, and a tribute to walking as a source of empowerment and liberation. This inspired Albert Kreimler to create a collection that is made for daily wear, and for a woman on the move” A translation from Architecture into fashion. Nearly all of Albert Kriemler’s collection takes inspiration from architectural design, having forms of geometric underpinning giving items a streamlined appearance. Much of this architectural vision came form his home town of St Gallen, referencing half timbered houses, rooftops and cobbles-stoned paths, then translated into modern St. Gallen embroidery.
